October is Eczema Awareness Month
A Chronic Skin Problem
Eczema is a chronic skin problem that can make skin uncomfortable and inflamed. Symptoms include persistent itching and red, rough patches on the skin.

RACE Cancer Foundation - Oktoberfest 5K
Contemporary Dermatology proudly supported RACE Cancer Foundation's Oktoberfest
5K/5M Road Race held September 27th. Before and after the race, Contemporary Dermatology offered free skin cancer screenings to event participants. An indoor screening area was set up with three exam rooms. Three of our providers, Dr. Robert Nossa, Dr. Michael Shaughnessy and Certified Physician Assistant Alexis Tam performed 60 skin cancer screenings and among them, one case of melanoma skin cancer was detected, which requires prompt treatment.
